And as Jed says, "and open them in the right application (Excel) rather than in Winzip"
Ideally, the list of known extensions should be specified in the Administration section of JIRA along with their MIME types. As you suggested, adding all the new Office 2007 extensions to mime.types:
application/vnd.openxmlformats docx docm dotx dotm xlsx xlsm xltx xltm xlsb xlam pptx pptm potx potm ppam ppsx ppsm Now, when I attach one of the above file types to JIRA, it's no longer downloaded as a ZIP file (great!). However, the icon still doesn't show up properly. I'm on JIRA 3.10.2 - do I need to upgrade to 3.12.2 to get the icons, or is this still an outstanding issue? Thanks! Hi David,
The fix for the icons will be available in the next release of JIRA (3.12.2). Note that this fix only registers icons for the docx, xlsx and pptx extensions. Regards, Hmm.. Would it be much more effort to add the rest of the extensions too? We do use them fairly often, especially xlsm.
David,
Absolutely. Do you have a complete list of extensions? Cheers, Yes, it's about 3 comments ago
application/vnd.openxmlformats docx docm dotx dotm xlsx xlsm xltx xltm xlsb xlam pptx pptm potx potm ppam ppsx ppsm From here: http://technet2.microsoft.com/Office/en-us/library/e077da98-0216-45eb-b6a7-957f9c510a851033.mspx The mappings should be as follows:
