Hi Rosie and Andrew,

I have just added some content to the Logging and Profiling page of the JIRA documentation, on how to make Profiling permanent (i.e. still enabled after restarting JIRA). I committed it to the trunk as revision 48955.

It was a moderately substantial addition, so could one of you please review it and clean it up if necessary. I'm confident that it is technically correct, but it might need some technical writer love and care.
