"Ausgabehinweise" is really a very bad translation for release notes. This term is actually totally unknown in germany.

Among german developers the term "Release Notes" is a fixed english term everyone uses. If you think about End-Users (which don't know the term Rel. Notes so well) i could think about a term like "Versionshinweise". But please kill the term "Ausgabe" as this is a term nobody uses, though it is the literal translation of "Release".

I would propose "Versionshinweise" as you use the term "Version" also in other spots in the german version of JIRA.

Just seen something else:

The Word "Berichtersteller" (english: Reporter) is also a very complicated termn in german. I think the equivalent of "Author" --> german: "Autor" would be much nicer and more compact.

Thanks for reporting! We have engaged an external company to complete the German translations. The trouble is that they do not have a deep knowledge of JIRA. So I suspect it will take some time until these things are ironed out.
