This is by far the biggest thing that we miss from Bugzilla. The ability to add a watcher would be wonderful... Sure would be nice as soon as possible

Add watchers and allow notifications to be sent to users in a role for an issue.

JIRA 3.0 has an 'edit watchers' page, but I'm not sure it addresses the 'hey have a look at this' use-case. Perhaps we should have a variation of the "issue created" email notification which includes all comments, and allows the user to add a comment at the top - "Hey Mike, please add a comment to this issue" or whatever.
