Lots of things in Jira have a field for a text description of what the thing is for, e.g. fields, reports etc. Groups could do with a similar field, and maybe even one for users (or did that get added already?). This would make it easier to remember exactly what the purpose of a group is, and so make it easier when adding new users to decide which groups to add them to.
