Mylyn (previously known as Mylar) is a great plugin for Eclipse that provides a task-focused workflow.

Starting with Eclipse 3.3, it is packaged with the Eclipse distributions. Unfortunately, the JIRA connector for Mylyn is not, and has to be downloaded separately from an Eclipse update site that is not in the set of preconfigured update sites. It is the only available connector that is labelled as having "Incubator" status, indicating that it lacks the level of quality of the other connectors available.

I'm trying to run the JIRA connector for Mylyn against jira.atlassian.com (3.10-DEV-190607-#251), but it doesn't seem to be retrieving filter results.

Mate,

As far as I know the Mylyn guys are working on improving the JIRA integration.

From JIRA Development team perspective we are quite stretched trying to manage all the possible improvements:

So I am not sure when we will be able to divert attention to it.

I am having the same problem. I am using JIRA 3.10

Mylyn says "Mylar requires JIRA version 3.3.3 or later" after I clicked on "Validate Settings" button.

I am using Eclipse 3.2. with following plug-ins:
download.eclipse.org/tools/mylyn/update/e3.2 (Eclipse 3.2)
and download.eclipse.org/tools/mylyn/update/extras (3.3 and 3.2)

On my machine I have Eclipse Europa 3.3, Mylyn installed from download.eclipse.org/tools/mylyn/update/e3, Jira Connector as an additional install, marked as "experimental", running against jira.andromda.org (Jira 3.4.2) server.

I get the error message: java.lang.IllegalStateException: session already invalidated, very similar to JRA-8009. I guess that the Jira Connector for Mylyn uses SOAP and possibly has the same problem as the people who filed JRA-8009.

I am stuck and do not know what to do.

By the way, when I run Mylyn against jira.atlassian.com itself (Jira 3.10.1), I get the message "Mylar requires JIRA version 3.3.3 or later" after I clicked on "Validate Settings" button.

Please ensure that you are using the 2.2 version of the Mylyn JIRA Connector, available from:

http://www.eclipse.org/mylyn/downloads/

If the problem persists, please file a bug against the Mylyn JIRA Connector so that we can diagnose it, and make sure to include any new information in the message you get after clicking Validate Settings.
