The search filter needs an option to be able to filter for all bugs commented by a certain person. (I have no idea why our team wants this, but they do)

It would be even better to be able to search by 'Last commenter'. Then we could see all issues last commented by customers and act based on that information.

For support.atlassian.com, we'd need "issues commented on by people NOT in jira-developers". Some related thoughts in ~~JRA-4642~~

I think that the 'participants custom field' would solve most of this (also shows issues you have edited, which may or may not be what you are after):

I think this can be closed? You can search by commenter now by using a Text Search, matching on "comments' and using the person's name.

Hi Nathan,

This issue is about adding the ability to search for issues where a given user has added a comment.

At the moment, JIRA allows to search through comments, but not by the people who added these comments.

As Scott mentioned in the comment above, there is a Participants Custom Field in the JIRA Toolkit that solves this problem.

As the plugin is not officially supported yet, we would like to keep this issue open.
