This happens to me /all/ the time: start writing a Jira issue report (like this one ) or a wiki page, then realize I made a typo, so hit ctrl-B. I hit this because of the deeply ingrained muscle memory that Emacs has given me. Unfortunately, ctrl-B will royally hose you because it's a shortcut for "browser back". Of course at that point, you've completely lost everything you've been editing and there's no way to get it back. Other shortcuts will do the same thing (ctrl-A too IIRC). I really just want to shut off the keyboard shortcuts all together.

It's possible to use Javascript to pop up a confirmation alert box when browser back is hit on an edit screen. Plone does this. It can be a little annoying when you mis-click on an edit link and want to bail out on it, but it could be a life saver when you accidently Ctrl-B while writting your opus issueous.

Most likely there is a Firefox plug-in that disables this same thing as well?

I'll have to see if there's a Firefox plugin that makes this sane, but really it would be great if Jira/Confluence allowed users to customize this part of the L&F. It's about the only thing that annoys me about them.

It can be edited but it required modifiaction of the properties files in the language bundles. You can set it to a prefered short-cut or remove it completly.
Can't be done through the UI at the moment.

Cheers,
Nick

See the linked issue for a workaround in Firefox:
