Terry means that we should use the base url as specified in general configuration, instead of the request url.

Anton,

This breaks with people who want to use the request URL because they access JIRA from two places.

Seems we can't win? Can you think of a good solution?

I think we should not use the baseurl if we have a request object. To make things work when JIRA is accessed through a proxy, a configuration setting can be set to ensure that the request object has the host name and port number of the proxy. For more information see:
