Unable to specify Global Availability to a team member in Jira Portfolio

We get an 500 error when we try to specify Global Availability to a team member in Jira Portfolio.
How to reproduce: from the Teams tab of Jira Portfolio, we expend a team and from its list of team member we select one member.
This displays the contextual menu on the right along with the Manage hyperlink.
Once we click on that Hyperlink we get the following error in the atlassian-jia.log file
