As a GH user I would like to have access to a permlink of the displayed page on A Board

When I use the "Permlink" I usually want to send the URL by email, so refreshing the screen is useless for me.

            Folks,

This has been implemented on the Rapid Board which is now available.

Rich, to answer your question please see The Future of GreenHopper.

            Thanks,

Is this "Rapid Board" intended to replace the Task Board at some point? It's not clear to me why you would develop a whole new board which is very similar to the existing Task Board, just to implement some new features. Why not just improve the Task Board?

Will the permalink feature be coming to other boards, specifically the Planning Board?

            Hello,

If you are interested in testing out the permanent link functionality please see the Rapid Board which is currently (as of 5.6.2) in GreenHopper Labs. There is a 'Got Feedback?' button in the top right of the Rapid Board, it would be great to get your take on the permanent link implementation.

            Things to try:

            • detailed card view (']' keyboard shortcut)
            • keyboard navigation ('j', 'k', 'n', 'p' keyboard shortcuts)
            • copy and paste between browsers

We're pretty happy with it so far but I won't be closing this as resolved just yet.

            Thanks,
            Nicholas Muldoon

            Look into url shortner.

Copy/Paste Url, toggle column visibility, detail card view, currently selected card, same rapid view

Blocked by support for more than one project on the planning, task and chart boards as this work will change the way we select cards to display.

BUMP! It's been 12 months since the last Atlassian update saying it should be addressed within 3 months.

The inability to share a specific view within JIRA/GH is a huge problem and blocker for our team to share status with external stakeholders that are not saavy JIRA users. We too have had to resort to screensharing in order to communicate this. As a result our product owners and other "chickens", are not actively engaged wtih exploring JIRA themselves as much as we would like.

This is a real barrier for communication. Hoping to see this planned in a sprint soon!

I note that the original comment stated that permalink was useless. Having tested both permalink in JIRA and refresh in Greenhopper I can see that permalink has one feature that is excellent, namely being able to copy the URL it generates and email to someone else to let them see the exact same list of issues in the exact same order. The URL that Refresh generates does not do this.

I have added a comment to: GHS-2574 about this.

I'm sitting in a planning meeting via remote communications (through Second Life) and we can't seem to manage to paste a link that reliably has all of us viewing the same page of data and order of items. We get comments like "Let's start with 940". "Mine starts with 606." It's so frustrating that people have just decided to try to do this with screensharing. It's also a problem with number of items per page, etc.

We also have a problem with pasting a link to a JIRA query into documentation (say, on our wiki). Please, can we get a way to get a reliable link to the displayed query?

I'm confused, I can't "copy link location" from the refresh button on the planning board. How do I use that to get a link?
