Write a separate page, describing the functionality of the 'config test' tab.
Explain:
- How to perform the test. (Click the tab, enter the application's 'Username' and 'Password', then click the 'Update' button. Green tick = OK, etc)
- What the test will tell you. (If green, then the username and password work with the configured directory. So if there are authentication problems with an application, that's due to connection between app and Crowd rather than being due to user authentication.)
- TO DO: Complete page http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CROWD/3.6+Testing+a+User%27s+Login+to+an+Application
- TO DO: Get it reviewed, then unhide it.
Reviewed by Justen Mon 5/11. Sent to Rosie for review. - TO DO: Re-number the existing pages 3.6 and 3.7
- TO DO: Link to the new page from:
http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CROWD/3.2+Adding+an+Application, and explain that if they like, they can use this page to test a user's authentication against the application. (But it's NOT the application username they're testing, just any old user.) - DONE: Remove mention of the Config Test from page 3.5.
