I have made the charts 14 days by default.

Set in one place for all charts is probably not what we want? Some charts make more sense over different periods (one month looks good for comment volume for example).

Setting a variable somewhere to indicate the preferred period that is passed to reports is sensible, you can then pass that to tags etc.

Added a function to create a period, saving need to calc dates in JSP, and set that on report tags that use a period.
