Inter-page links in exported PDF wrong

XMLWordPrintable

Assume a space containing the two pages "Home" and "Foo", where "Foo" contains something like this:

      [Link to myself|Foo]
      [Link to home|Home]

If this space is exported to PDF (both pages are exported), then the first link will point to the URL of the generated URL (for example http://confluence.atlassian.com/download/temp/export_02202004_082449/TEST-20Feb2004-08_24_49.pdf) and the second link will point to an URL of a NOT exported HTML page (e.g. http://confluence.atlassian.com/download/temp/export_02202004_082449/Home.html).

In any case I think it's wrong to point to the area where the temporary export artifacts are created, as the document isn't very portable that way.

So what should the links point to? Here some thoughts: The export mechanism has to decide whether the links should point to resources inside the exported artifact (i.e. to other parts within the PDF) or to the source artifacts (i.e. the URLs of the pages in Confluence). Which of these approaches is more appropriate? Should it be a user option? If the links point to the source artifacts, should they point to the version current at the time of export?

Observation: Anchor links seem to point to the respective parts within the exported PDF.
