When creating a template it would be good to be able to specify field types aswell.

e.g.
@foo|textfield(50)@
@foo|textarea(5,20)@
@foo|select(foo,bar,baz)@
@foo|radio(foo,bar,baz)@
@foo|check(foo,bar,baz)@

or even
@foo|select(space_name)@
To allow you to choose from a list of pages in a space
