Profile user searching and address search bottlenecks

      Performing a user search is very slow for large numbers of users. For example, confluence.atlassian.com has 7010 users and searching for *atlassian.com took 72 seconds to produce the 7 pages of results. It may be useful to profile user searching and address any bottlenecks.
