One of our resellers remarked that he could'nt see the delete action when editing a page - Ben suggests that the words 'delete page' appear next to the trash can

I've had similar feedback from end users - the gray trash icon, on its own in a corner, is definitely not obvious to spot. Adding "delete page" or somesuch text would definitely make the icon/button more explicit.

I've added a text label to the remove icon for 2.2.5

While adding a text label certainly makes it easier to find the trash button ONCE inside the Edit tab, it doesn't help those users who do not even realize they have to go into the Edit tab in order to delete the page. Indeed it is far from clear-cut that having the command there is such a good design choice in the first place... I can't count the number of times when a user would sit there, wondering how to delete a page, never thinking of going into the Edit tab first. And I would tend to agree that it doesn't really belong there: if I want to delete a page, why would go to Edit it first?? I think this problem needs a more radical fix, like maybe moving the trash button back into the View page, next to the favorite/watch buttons.

I agree with Othman that none of my users expect to delete a page by first editing it. This is almost always the first question I get from a new user. The first time I used Confluence I was very confused by this too. I don't unfortunately have any good suggestions as to where to put it instead. The "Info" tab would be an option, although not very clear. Having the trash icon on every page would probably be overkill. Having a "Delete" tab also seems unnecessary. Hopefully someone can think of a good design solution for such important functionality.

It would help to be able to delete from the "Pages" tab when browsing the space. There a trash can icon would be much clearer!
