It would be nice if confluence would allow to disable the user profile of someone who is (should) not using confluence anymore.

Use case: sombedoy leaves the company, we need to close/disable his user profile.

Please note that existing content should not break. So refering to user xyz through xxx should still work but clicking on the link should clearly state that the user is not "active" anymore.

Note that we should be able to undo this operation at all time.

Thanks!

Just want to second this idea, we recently have had an employee leave and we want to retain their content, but the user is no longer active. I think it is unfair that this user counts against our license total, when they are no longer active.

There is a workaround for this issue: to remove a user from the license check, remove the 'Use Confluence' permission from them. For most users, this simply means removing all their group memberships in Confluence.

The license check is updated every 15 minutes, or when you flush the caches (under Cache statistics in Administration).
