The Google Firefox toolbar prefetches the RSS autodiscovery feeds in Confluence which are secured by Basic Auth. This prompts the user for a login and password where in fact they're already logged in to Confluence with a cookie.

This issue has been filed with Google.

Both issues pertain to problems arising when the Subscribe feature of the Google Toolbar is enabled

This is actually a duplicate of CONF-6803. That issue describes the problem better, as well as a workaround.
