In the create/edit page, create a new field for "Short description". This information can then be used to render Description and Abstract Meta tags in HTML, as well as provide a better short description to use by the

plugin (whereas currently it is just grabbing a chunk of content data directly off the page, which is a bit of a hit-and-miss affair)

There could also be a separate "Keywords" field.

Better meta-tagging allows for better searchability and more relevant results, both internally (ie. by Confluence) as well as external search engines.

Confluence search could then also use a "Search brief descriptions only" to improve search speeds.
