There is a way to order by date and by size but not by name,.

Can you please explain which part of Confluence you mean?

If you're referring to creating a certain ordering of pages, there is an outstanding issue you can vote for: CONF-1031.

The list of attachments on the attachments tab can definitely be ordered by their file name in Confluence 2.6, and I think this has been available for a long time (2.0?).

If this isn't what was requested, please reopen the issue and clarify what you need.
