So - there doesn't seem to be anyway to access a pop account over SSL as far as I can see from within Confluence. Correct? I suppose I could fake it with stunnel or something like that, but have I overlooked something easier? It appears that JIRA supports it.

It strikes me as a major failing of the email support in Confluence to not natively support ssl to pop. It's hard to even find a POP account these days that doesn't require SSL. We certainly don't support this on our campus. Please consider adding native support for this in the default mail config.

We're also seeing a requirement for this at Codehaus - projects trying to grab mail from google mail.

Darren Bell added a comment - 23/Nov/05 09:59 AM
IMAP or POP3/SSL would be great.

Andrew Miller added a comment - 27/Feb/06 05:37 PM
Same requirement here.....email passwords are tied into LDAP (single password across all campus apps) so security policy requires no insecure POP.

POP SSL support (just accept the certificate if it's self-signed by default) would be fantastic.

We're trying the same thing here at UNC. We'd really like to be able to set up gmail accounts and grab mail from them.

From CONF-2258, it sounds like this has been resolved in Confluence 2.2.5. Should this issue be closed?

Dave Loeng [Atlassian] added a comment - 02/Jul/06 07:54 PM
Yes. This has been resolved in 2.2.5.

Cheers,
Dave
