      It would be helpful to be able insert wiki markup into the wysiwyg view without having to switch the view.

      If, when in wysiwyg mode, I add

      to a page, it is saved as

      {anchor:foo}{anchor}

      Would it be possible to provide some kind of ability in the editor to select pieces of text which should not be escaped? That way pre-wysiwyg users could work comfortably in the wysiwyg view, without having to switch views. This would help the learning process, as I could do whatever I wanted on the page but take my time when learning how to use the new editor. It would also mean that I do not have to issue another request to the server if I want to change views, which can be frustrating if the network is slow.
