Description
NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.
This issue is a follow up on the comment raised at http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Remote+API+Specification#comment-168004177.
We're using Confluence as a documentation authoring environment.
As such, we periodically download content from Confluence for translation into various languages. [this content is then passed into a translation management system].
Not all versions of a page are fit to be translated, so we routinely have authors save a version with the comment "Ready for translation".
Then, the author might continue to edit the page.
However, right now, with the remote api, we can neither read version comments, nor download anything other than the current version of the page.
What we need to be able to do through the API is:
1. Loop through all versions a particular page, and find the most recent version that has a particular comment, like, say - "ready for translation".
2. I then want to pull down that version's content.
For it to work, I think I need:
- the 'save comment' to be part of the PageHistorySummary object
Both of these features are available in MediaWiki's API - and that allows for a more dynamic documentation authoring environment.
Appreciate anything you can do on this.
