Hi in FF3 and Safari 3.3.1 on Mac OSX Tiger, on some pages comment text is rendered in italic, and "therefore" quoted text is not italic. See attached screen shots.

Oops, quoted text in Safari IS actually italic.

Just had a quick look at some CAC (confluence 2.8.2-rc1) pages, they all looked good (comments not in italic).

This is a bug with the French translation. It contains the following value for the the i18n property, 'tip.start.typing':

<em>Astuce:Vous recherchez une étiquette&nbsp;? Commencez à taper.

You can see it in more detail if you open the labels editor (screenshot attached). This may have been exposed by us removing the table from the labels editor. We're not going to add it back because the translation has poorly formed HTML in it.

The error is on line 1856 of the latest translation (55327). The content should be 

tip.start.typing=<em>Astuce&nbsp;:</em> Vous recherchez une \u00e9tiquette&nbsp;? Commencez \u00e0 taper.
.

We will let the translators know as part of the review for the translations.

This still happens. Either we lost the fix during the translations update, or the translations are not properly bundled with 2.9

What I meant was the latest versions of the translations that we currently have checked in address this problem.

We will need to build and tag a new version of the translations if you want to try these out on EAC or CAC.

I released version 1.7 of the French translation including the fix for this issue and reved the dependency in Confluence.
