This is due to the Mail jar not being compiled for JDK 1.4.

The mail jar has been rebuilt for JDK1.4. This will be shipped with the next version of Bamboo 1.0.2.

In the meantime, a patch is available here: http://repository.atlassian.com/atlassian-mail/jars/atlassian-mail-2007_03_12.jar

To apply the patch, simply copy this jar into the /webapp/WEB-INF/lib directory, and DELETE the file atlassian-mail-2007_02_27.jar.
