It looks like it is definitely possible to use Google Talk to send notifications. I've written up a brief page in Bamboo's public space on Confluence. Please look into it at http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BAMBOO/Using+Google+Talk+for+Instant+Messaging+Notifications Please note that I believe Google does not allow messages to be received if the receiver does not have the sender approved. Maybe that is a reason why it wasn't working for you before. Could you let me know how this works out for you? A generic Jabber plugin would be nice, but I find Gtalk often requires a little bit more configuration than jabber normally does. |

We'll take a look at this. I think it should also be possible and we'll either add the doco for 0.5 or if it's not possible, then we'll try to add the functionality for 0.6
