When setting up the perforce information in 2.0 beta 4 I provide the same credentials and setup information as I have for version 1.2.4 yet I receive an error message {{This user is not avialble on this port (perforce server)

I have tried 10 different users, all of which do exist on the server. same results.

Our P4 Server is 2006.2 - I downloaded the .ZIP file version of the install

Hi,

As I mentioned in BAM-2305, we are having a few issues with the new perforce library. I have improved the logging in beta 4, so if you could upgrade, repeat the process and upload your logs, then maybe we can gain a better insight into why this is happening.

Cheers,
Brydie

Hey Brydie,

I just was able to get the UI to accept my changes by entering the username i was having trouble with and leaving the password field blank - but this user that I am using does in fact have a password. Perhaps something to check into...

Hi Steven,

Not sure how your going with the new logging, but I just thought I'd let you know about a perforce fix that will be in the next release (beta 5). I have completely changed the way the user validation occurs in an attempt to fix BAM-2305. You may find that these changes will indirectly fix your setup problems.

Let me know how you go,
Brydie

Had no idea you put out beta 4! - I'll set it up tonight and reply back

Update - Well I just finished setting up beta 4 as an upgrade from beta 3 and SUCCESS - i was able to connect to perforce (now running perforce 2007.3) and download all the files from our repository with bamboo.

Hi Steven,

I am not sure what fixed it, perhaps there was a problem with the version of perforce. I will resolve this issue for now, if you have any other problems let me know.

Cheers,
Brydie
